  • TCA big time- bummer.

  • I don't know if it is bottle variance, or just good winemaking, but this wine was much superior to the bottle we had a couple years prior. Ripe black cherry, char, and a hint of cinnamon stick on the nose, with black cherry, red raspberry, and tea leaf flavors. If I had it blind, I actually may have guessed a 1er or grand cru burgundy from the great aromas...this was a pleasant surprise that I truly didn't expect to be as good as it was!

  • This wine is not nearly as big and thick as the 1996 which is not necessarily a bad thing, but the lack of richness proves to show in the mid-palate and finish. The wine was beautifully aromatic, great raspberry flavor upfront, almost a berry pie like flavor with well-balanced spice, but the wine did fade on the finish a bit. It was a very pleasant drink, but don't let it sit any longer, it is at its prime and I don't think it would do any good to let it rest more. A little more French in style, quite pleasant.

  • Deep red colour. Very impressive bouquet which is responsible for all of the that I will award to this wine, which was so overblown and awful to drink that I failed to produce a useful tasting note for it. Personally, I could be entertained with a glass of this just to sniff, but nothing more than that.
