  This bottle was a little bit better than the earlier bottle a few days ago - decanted for an hour - lovely rich dark ripe cherry and plum flavours - very enjoyable - surprising for its age. Plenty of life and flavour

  I found a few of these left in one of my long term wine lockers - I have a couple of 2000s as well. While the wine is past its best I was pleasantly surprised after I decanted it and had a taste especially after reading earlier reviews. The colour is relatively light with some browning. Nose was pretty clean - dark fruits with raisin notes not surprisingly. Palate was luscious dark fruits reminiscent of fruit cake as a consequence of its age - my wife really liked this - medium finish. This was kept in very good stable conditions which contributes to its graceful aging I think. Won't wait too long to finish them off.

  Past it's prime and barely drinkable. The palate at this point is still fair (monolithic at best), and now, the nose has a developed a slight 'burnt rubber' smell to it, indicating sulphur dioxide was probably used in the production process. Either way, it's past it's prime. Discard, drink now or cautiously use for cooking.

  Decided to try a little something different. Had salmon, but wanting a syrah/shiraz...this wine came to mind, and it was a good choice. Lighter than I remember, a little sweeter than I remember, but still lots of fruit, good acidity and extremely smooth. Easy drinking for an Aussie shiraz. Parker gave it 95 points, and it will ever reach that. A very nice food wine, and great QPR. Some light tannins left, but i suggest you drink now.
