Nottingham Offline (Harts): Very porty nose - rich and chocolatey. Lots of sweet fruit and a nice character - portlike but not like port. Very pleasant and luscious. Very enjoyable. I think this is one of Zuccardi's fortified malbecs. Very nice.

CLWS - Christmas Dinner (Central London Wine Society, London): An additional wine, brought by Bob C. At last, something interesting. It is a sweet fortified Malbec, the first I've had. Its light bodied, much lighter than the Port with some bright red berry fruits, but my eyes water from the alcohol fumes that seem to rise from the glass. (19%abv about £10)

Very enjoyable on a cool night. tastes like a "new world" port. Lot's of candied red fruit, very sweet and quite hot. Very nice sweet, toasted finish.
