John called Chenin immediately, an excellent guess even if wrong. On drier side of demi sec, you’d have to really look for the botrytis, though there is an apricot note. Wool, wax, honey, and peach (and a tad of apricot). B++

Lovely on day 1, minerals and stone fruit and honey and very much off-dry. On day 2 it is better, more pungent and intense, more complicated. These wines confuse me, I must say - or maybe it's that there is a lot of bottle variation?

Wow, this has really blossomed over the past few years. It has gained a lot of complexity with the addition of waxy, earthy developed aromas, as well as broadening out a lot. Fruit is a combination of dried and fresh, mainly lime and lemon, with some green apple. There are also some spice components. The whole thing still sits on its frame of steely, stony minerality. The just-noticeable residual sugar is balanced perfectly by piercing acidity. This is an absolutely delicious wine at the perfect stage of evolution for me.

I liked this better than the 2002 I had not long ago, which I now realize might have been a compromised bottle. This to me comes off the way a demi-sec Huet does- river stone minerality and woolly, with good balance and acidity. Carries its RS well. But here there is not as much depth or complexity as in the better Chenins of the area. Good wine. Not something I would devote scare cellar space to in the future.

Note: I use the recommended sale, so 85 represents a very good wine.
Very nice bottle. Excellent balance of acid and a touch of sweetness.
No reason to panic in terms of drinking window.
