Medium gold. Nose golden delicious apples, butterscotch, lemon and subtle oak. A rich wine with apple, butterscotch, carmel, oak, vanilla and minerals. Complex wine with a long finish. This is a baby Kistler and one of the great sub $20 Chardonnay wines I have ever sampled.
Paired with tempura shrimp and lobster mac 'n cheese. Certainly could tate the mineral on the palate but also some butter - which I was not expecting based on the winemaker's notes. An "okay" chardonnay - but there are better options for the same price.
