Surprisingly good after almost a quarter century !! Definitely past peak but still drinking well !! Near perfect cork easily removed. Dark burgundy color with moderate oxidation and good clarity. Aromas of stewed cherries and flavors of dark berry compote and leather. Consumed over two days. Varietal accuracy for this mature wine. I have consumed many of these over the years and finally fading. None remaining in the cellar.

NobleRottersSydney - Wines beginning with 'Y' (Alio's, Surry Hills): {cork, 13.5%} Still a ruby colour, but the nose is now developing in the classic Oz warm-climate style. Aromas of intense roasted black berries and sweet vanillan US oak – it’s the classic South Australian offering. The palate is just moderately pitched; all the structure is subservient to the evenly aging fruit. Plenty of front and mid-palate, a generous upfront wine that has aged nicely considering the vintage and probably needs to be drunk within the next few years.

Spice and honey, a rather odd profile. The nose is quite familiar from previous tastings but it really doesn't speak Shiraz to me. Okay, but I don't know if I'd buy another bottle.
