Popped, let stand 3 hours then decanted. Opened beautifully. I really enjoy this vintage and winery. blackberry flavors. no heat well balanced wine. The oak was not overpowering.

Nat cork. A ripe purple with an even darker core. Perfumed nose of blackberry, a hint of something minty or menthol-like, with undelrying cedar note and a bit of warmth but not hot and not off-putting. Nicely come together a this point and def for drinking in the relative near-term - may hold but prob not improve. Very tasty. The menthol note is more pronounced among the dark fruits and the wood has just the right kiss of flavor to it. Nice lengthy finish. A bit chewy. Throwing quite a bit of sediment so a decant is reco'd.

nose- iintriguing nose of dark berries and wood. The oak comes on a bit heavy here mouth - a very ripe and lush cabernet that would likely score big Parker points. My initial reaction was 'delicious'. Sweet dark fruit, blackberry, cassis, chocolate, followed by mouth coating round tannins. It didnt really go well with my pesto pasta. It strikes me as a wine to be consumed solo.

San Antonio Wine Geeks (The Home of Dave Lew): Floral nose of toast and cedar. Rich dark fruit palate, less concentrated than some of the others but complex and balanced. Mocha flint and cedar finish with a mineral character I cant’ describe but that I associate with volcanic soil (tar but not that strong). Really nice well and well made.
