Medium bodied with a good amount of red fruit on the palate and finish. Bricking around the rim. Rose petals, tobacco & eucalyptus on the nose. Restrained at first. Air helped and let it show its stuff. Really showing well at 15 years old. Can go longer. Drink now-2020.
Believe it or not, this has not fully developed yet! But good secondary development is under way and evident in the awesome nose! Lots of mature cedar and pauillac earth, beginning transition to mushroom and meat...There is an oak component in the middle ruining things a bit...It pokes out in dissidence. Has good grip, so with about 3 to 5 years it should be much better than now. First of a case, will wait for a year before checking in again.
My bottle was similar to that of Lebo's. "Lots of earth, tobacco, wet leaves / forest floor" on the nose and initial palate, with a core of fruit underneath. "complex, smooth and well-rounded. Nice balance and mouth feel." Well said! Agree this was excellent for a second wine, and saw no signs that it would not have kept longer.

(Reserve de Comtesse) It was really showing well. It really showed the depth of ripe fruit backed up by solid structure that makes this vintage so special. Great nose of cassis, kirsch, tar, red flowers, tobacco and slight green element that added to the complexity. Wonderful depth on the palate with great purity and sound acidty. Good presence in the midpalate. A very complete wine.
