This second wine from Araujo still impresses - very close to the first growth at a much better price point. Dark berry fruit, leather, very well integrated tannins. I would say it is definitely in it's prime drinking window, but will last a few more years. We've had it side-by-side now several times with the second wine from Sloan (Asterisk) and much prefer this one.
This is a wonderful "second" wine from Araujo. So good, hardly need to spend triple for the Eisele unless you can. Opens somewhat on the sweet, viscous side, great mouthfilling and mouthcoating feel. One of those conversation on hold wines as everyone reaches for the bottle and says wow, what is this. Gave it four hours to breathe, sure that helped.
