  • Over three days. Mature yellow with slight amber tinting. Some faint and fleeting brown spice. Honeyed. Crystallized loquat. But not special. A little flat, even. From a half on the following day: the late-picked nature of the fruit is accented, but it isn't singing. No change on the 3rd day, with just a half-glass remaining. Luxuriant mouth. Silky and thick with unctuous, ripe orchard fruit. There's such a great deal of fruit here that the acidity gets pushed far into the background. If the nose was orchard, then the palate is papaya and tropical. Good length. Again, the late-picked character stands out more on palate on the two subsequent days, with an enhanced sweetness. Still very much intact on days 2 and 3, so should see twenty years. The mouth is where this very good wine shows its colours.

  • Wow.. Very young, very round, nice clean finish which will only improve. A very nice oily texture with some orchid fruits. Brought for Indian food, paired very well with the spicy dishes.

  • Birthday wines (Schaefer, Kapcsandy): Superb wine if still too young. Really no signs of all at age. Light golden in color. The nose is pineapples, pears and wet stones. Viscous (similar to the texture of Gatorade). On the palate, sweet and perhaps a bit more acidity would be good, but it still has plenty. Loads of fruit; grapefruits and pears. Long, long finish. Delicious.

  • Many apple notes on the nose including Fuji. Botrytis is apparent and emerges. A bit of salinity and tanginess. Apple, banana and flowers on the nose with a creamy, rich mouth feel. Very ripe and exotice through the finish. Somd mineral salt notes on the finish as well.

  • Served at about 55 degrees, with no decant. Beautiful golden color, muted nose of apple and sweet peach. Full, silky mouthfeel. Stones, peaches and hints of citrus. Plenty of sweetness, but on the back end this changes gears with the appearance of a little cleansing fizz. Finish is medium long. Youthful. Decent value at around $25.
