A masculine examples of this wine. Cigar ash and hints of vanilla on the nose. Black plum, dark earth, light licorice and hints of coal dust on the dark but balanced and light in feel given the overall complexion. Tannins still grippy, require more time. Needs five more years. Double decanted four hours prior to consuming. 93+
Annual Pilgrimage to Piedmont; 10/3/2014-10/5/2014 (Piedmont, Italy): Second bottle, healthy and joyful ( first bottle was corked) and this was like a fine mature burgundy. Light, elegant balanced and very much healthy and complex. This is not for the lovers of big fruity barolos. Such a great experience to have come across it I. Such fine form. 94?95?96?
One year later and this is still beautiful but it seems to have fallen off some, become a smaller wine than it was a year ago. It had a quiet start on the ask and the palate, softly and lightly beautiful even if not powerful. (Manducatis)
