  • Nose of mocha, smoke, tart cherry fruit, ash, more of the same on the palate, medium bottle, past the peak, drink up, tasty, mouth filling, touch simple, medium/long flavors, a $22 auction bottle.

  • Needed time to open up, but then showed some nice notes of light fruit and balance. Still slightly sharp on the finish

  • - Purple color and aromas of blackberry. It's balanced and has flavours of burnt toast and alcohol with a medium/full body. Silky texture - Using the cellarvu ranking system - my own notes: this is a silky full bodied merlot with a nice blackberry nose and fruit forward start on the palate. Very drinkable with cheese and any good meat dish. A slight hint of alcohol heat but very minor now.

  • I seldom keep wine more than a week or so before its gone so my house stash of this wine is long gone. But my friend cellared a few bottles for me at his house where they are out of sight and mind,. Last night I retrieved them and shared them with friends at dinner. Both bottles of the 2004 Regusci merlot were gone quickly. At this age point, they were very mellow and gentle but still full of fruit flavor. Even the 14.2 alcohol level was unnoticeable. The lovely young smell was already evident on the cork. Today I will open the Regusci Angelo's vineyard, but I only cellared it out of desperation as the first bottle had no fruit at all, just cigars and tobacco, and I am not hoping for much. But maybe someone will like it.
