I was a little concerned this might be past it’s best but no concerns there. Drinking beautifully with an extremely long finish! Gentle decant for 2hrs was spot on

This was my last bottle. The cork disintegrated as it had for the last few. I had to strain the wine through a coffee filter to remove all the cork bits. But the wine held up admirably. It was decanted for 3 hours. The tannins were smooth and silky, and it was drinking very well. There were still mild aromas of rubber and petroleum at the outset, but in a pleasant way. The fruits had gone, but there was a rich mineral component. I think this vintage has reached and possibly just passed its peak, and any remaining bottles should be consumed and enjoyed very soon.

Screw cap, needed a good 2 hours breathing, started off closed with slight metallic flavor(screw cap?) but this blew off to deliver rich caramel, mint-choc, touch of prune, cinnamon and underlying black pepper, cascading tannins, with a 45 sec finish. Another wine to drink now if you like that balance of primary to secondary or hold for 3yrs

I am happy to report this wine is delicious right now. When I opened this bottle the cork disintegrated and there was an aroma of fresh rubber (better than burnt rubber). Undaunted, I followed the advice of a wise friend and decanted this for 2 ½ hours. After that time the aroma became earthy, fruity in a subdued way, and spicy. There is a long finish, and each sip begs another. This wine is expected to evolve for another year or two, and I think it is showing every sign that it will succeed.
