Looking younger than it smells. Strong nose, tannins are a bit angular but not ultra aggressive. Some bitterness is evident on the finish. Not totally sold on this one.

Very ripe, fruit holding up really well. Both red and black fruit on the nose, as well as strong sense of place, wild mushrooms, earthy. almost muddy. High acid, ripe raspberry, mushroom and cured meat on the palate. Tannins were soft and sweet; alcohol spiked a bit, the wine seems a little hotter that i would have liked but excellent altogether

Medium dark red. Dense, ripe, extracted and low toned, as befits an Hospices de Beaune cuvee, with pleasant if poorly delineated plum and pomegranate tones sweetened by a touch of oak. With air, some spicy oak complexity emerges, but this massive Beaune has never matured into a state of real elegance.

Nase: Reich, typisch, bereits ältliche Noten. Mund: Eher neutral, aber noch viel Tannin. Austrinken, wird nicht besser.
