  Deep purple color-no brick. Red fruit and earth on the nose and palate. smooth tannins.

  Dark garnet in color with clearing at the edges. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruits aromas of cherries, blueberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, leather, tobacco, loam, mushrooms, minerals, balsamic notes & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, mature, ripe fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with mushrooms, minerals & herbs. Lingering smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present & at 22 years of age, it is at or near its peak of development, so drink up! Fill was in lower neck above shoulder; cork was clean & intact.

  Soft and balanced. Basically aged to perfection. The fruit is muted now, but all the forest floor and leather shone through, with just the right hint of acid on the finish. Stood up to a cowboy ribeye.

Tannins have melted, and the wine is drinking great. Consider the format size here when evaluating 750ml bottles in the cellar. Overall, delicious and worth the price of admission, but not overly complex. A great bottle to drink and share with friends.
