G3/4. Beautiful wine and balance. Decanted for 3-4 hours and found most complexity later in night. Wonderful wine, but didn’t find it to be legendary. MPD at Westward.

Initially funky, sous-bois on the nose with a base dark fruits. Nose mellowed over time with fruit becoming more prominent and notes of tea, cigar box and leather becoming more distinct. Palate was powerful and rustic but elegantly so, classic traditional style of clos de la roche.

M&PD Tasting: Westward (Seattle, WA, USA): Powdered sugar, hint of stem, soft, silky, cherry, gaining pepper and spice in time. Haunting wine.
