Delightful, lessor vintage claret that breathed up beautifully after a 6 hour 'Audouze'. There are notes of red berry, green bean, cassis and earth. It gets sweeter in the glass and has a nice savoury finish.
incredibly soft and elegant wine, after 40 years; a lot of flavors, tasteful, and power; nothing wrong if kept in a good cellar; I bought it at an incredible good price in 1977 during the crisis in Bordeaux, when the Americans decided to boycot a lot of Bordeaux wines
Nose of dusty, damp earth floor with maybe just maybe hints of cherry left, lingering somewhere in there. Yes, it was all but long gone. Not much on the palate. Still interesting to drink a 40yr. wine.
too long ago to remember. this note is just to complete wine diary. interesting divergence of opinion between parker and spectator. interesting that a wine most likely over the hill is still being sold at auction.
