  • This bottle was way over the hill (not flawed), just too old and tired....out of balance, no fruit left, tart, watery. Should have been drunk years ago...what a shame.

  • Perfect fill, in superb condition. Inserted as a decoy in a line-up of great Burgundies, including 2 Dujacs, a Rousseau, a Prieure Roch and an older Mugneret, no one was able to guess it correctly. Many mistakenly took it for an off bottle of 92 Dujac Charmes Chambertin. Initially tart and showing considerable acidity, it mellowed after a couple of hours, becoming silky and complex, with great length and exquisite balance. Tailed off a bit afterwards, but still showing a beautiful bouquet of sous-bois, truffles and mushrooms, with some crushed old flowers in the background.

  • 12.5% alcohol. For the first 30 minutes after opening, this really held up well. Good color, bricking at the rim, but light cherry other than that. Initially, a gorgeous tart red cherry profile. With more air, however, it became a bit tired, with the fruit fading. A really lovely experience for those first couple glasses! B+

  • 12.5% alcohol. Light red cherry color, hints of bricking at the rim. Great color to this wine. Volatile nose. Stewed tomato on the bouquet. Palate is fairly dead. A zip of acidity, but the fruit has just gone away. Texturally not that bad but really not that drinkable. C
