93 pts

Keith's Blind Challenge Offline (The Square, London): Blind. White. Pale straw. Quite a fresh, slightly lemony nose on top of a weightier sense of texture. A touch of apricot on the nose. Somewhere in the Rhone? Hmm, palate more confusing, lighter, not Rhone. Could be chardonnay. David's suggestion of GC Chablis could bea good one. Gosh. SB! Very good ***1/2

Much better than prior bottles. At last, it tastes like Sancerre: grapefruit, tropical fruit, melon, minerals, acidity, and some residual sugar (well balanced by acidity). It shows a slight touch of heat, but altogether none of the prior disjointedness, and a wine that makes you want to sip more and more. Lesson to self (and others): Cotat Monts Damnes bottlings may require more bottle age than usual.
