  • Deep yellow straw coloured with an intense and developing nose of toasty vanilla oak aromas. Some stone fruit present, peach perhaps and a also honeydew melon.

The wine is dry with medium+ acidity and 13% alcohol. It is medium bodied with intense oak flavours that just overpower the lighter fruit flavours. Toast, smoke and vanilla dominate the oak flavours and the fruit struggles to break through these flavours. The finish is medium length.

The wine is clearly well crafted but, for me, the oak dominates far too much and does not integrate well.

  • One of my very first white burgundy wines. Although a red wine lover, this bottle was agreeable, very much to my nose and palate. I consumed half a glass and left the rest to the ladies as I turned to the red Gaja. This is a great wine to start off an evening, for sure. My only critical comment is that is was a bit on the sweet side.
