Seven wines from 1978 (CA and WA), and a few others...: Pretty heavily bricked. Slightly subdued nose, but still showed textbook Cabernet character with dried currant, herb, and lots of earth (rosemary?). This started a tad bit prune-like, but that resolved quickly with air. Fun, tasty wine.

Agree with Seth's note. This had unbelievable, intense - yes, perhaps even "epic" - fruit. However, the btl was flawed...Josh and I thought corked. A shame. Made me think that I need to check in on the 1 or 2 remaining 1983 CCRs that I have.

From my Dad's cellar. Bought on release. This was a major disappointment. Every other bottle from this case has been great. The cork slid out of this wet on the sides, with no resistance. Oh well. Strong chemical smell at the start, which burnt off to some degree, but the wine was clearly flawed. So sad. You could smell and especially taste the epic fruit that was lurking behind the flaws. A tragedy.
