  • the nose just smelled of old wine, farmyard and stewed fruit, reminded me of an old Australian wine that’s over the hill. The palate was actually better than the nose and had some freshness but very little, if any, fruit. It was passable with quite hearty food as the tannins were quite full on but I wouldn’t want to drink more of it than the glass I drank.

  • Very nice bottle, still showing some youthful tightness. Fine Grain Tannins which loosened up over the hour we followed it. Needed more air than it received. Great fruit and balance.

  • 80s/90s Burg dinner at Jade Palace. En Magnum, ex domaine. Deep dark red. This (from such a format) obviously showed much younger than its actual age. Lots of pepper, spice, searing tannin, violets, blueberries, currants. Very primary on the palate as well, with almost "chewy" tannins, lots of acid, spice, cranberries, blueberries, new leather and scorched earth. This would do with an additional 10-15 years of age as it still appears in an almost infant like stage, and the tannins, acid and fruit will definitely need to be more integrated.

  • Didn’t like this at all when opened - tight, tannin, hard. With some time fruit came out, rather masculine black fruit, still some wood tannin, a little ashtray. Others apparently liked, but I thought it tasted like a slightly OTH California Petite Sirah. C+

  • Very burly and structured; rich and extremely full-bodied and spicey. Excellent.
