Double decanted earlier int day and drunk over several hours.
A fantastic nose. Cooler fruit than the 90 or 82. Roses, cherries, balsam. Terrific perfume. Expansive and powerful yet graceful on the palate. This has a clarity and degree of focus that's impressive. Expansive and powerful, yet with an effortlessness to it. Long floral and balsamic finish. Early peak. Terrific 96

The nose was highly expressive and pretty with sweet cherries, spice and vibrant floral tones. On the palate, it displayed silky textures and perfectly resolved tannin, showing ripe raspberry fruit, along with spice and tart apple. A bump of acidity provided vibrancy going into the finish with notes of orange peel, spice and lingering hard red candy. This is easily one of the best ’95 Barolos I’ve ever tasted.

Opened for 8 hours before serving into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Fruit” day): Pale garnet that is very slightly cloudy.
Very aromatic savoury red berry and cherry fruits. Sandalwood and very rich and luxurious.
Super well integrated already. Featherweight but super structured, nice and clean finish.
93-94 points at this stage already and can still improve.
Did not improve much on second round but still very good.

Cappellano Vertical (Lusardi’s Restaurant, NYC): [Double-decanted at 12:30pm.] Rich, complex black fruit. Tarry, balanced. Just a gorgeous wine, one of the best of the vintage.
