  Popped and poured. It became clear to me pretty quickly this would have benefited from a decant as it was quite tight and restrained. Black cherry, violets, herbs and spice. Medium bodied with some tannin still evident. Plenty of life left.
  
  Two days later out the fridge it’s better. More open with lots of cherry liqueur, tannins better integrated, still a little four square but pretty delicious. Plenty of life still. Upgraded a point.

It’s a lovely jewel like colour and medium body, after 2 hours decanted the nose is showing just a hint of fruit and Vosne spice, but you have to work pretty hard to get that.   Popped and poured. Right in the sweet spot in terms of drinking window. Medium bodied, transparent, red fruited, good acidity but also a fair amount of punch indicating a long life ahead. Red cherries, herbs and spices. Straight forward, classic, well executed Vosne romanee in prime time.
