  • A modern take on Gevrey, this wine is pleasant with cherry, spice, but more wood influence then I prefer. Ready now, but not fading.

  • Light colored wine with a red to ruby rim... a bit young for its age in appearance. Low to moderate extraction. Aromatically still has quite a bit of fruit, dark and red cherry pitty fruit, some subtle spices from barrique, some soily, forest floory, kind of thing. On the palate, high acidity, a firmish, Gevrey-like midpalate with a nice transition into a very firm tannic finish, again very Gevrey. Balanced wine that is still quite firm but has a lot of depth of fruit to keep things in reasonable check, length is good, intensity is very good, complexity good. Finesse is fine, texture is firm but appropriate, expression of place is excellent. This is quite good, an 'excellent' wine that has some time ahead of it before peaking... give it a couple more years and try again if you have any... don't think it will blossom into anything grand however.

  • A touch lean, but drinks nicely with Spaghetti Bolognese

  • Very good for the vintage. Nose showed red fruit, earth and a touch or barnyard. Palate was well balanced and tasted of cherries and rasberries with good acids and modest tannins. Should drink well over the next 5 years. I doubt this will make old bones. The 2000's are drinking well now.
