PnP served non-blind, and enjoyed over two hours. About as good of a showing as I could have asked for; cork and fill were vg. This particular bottle skewed younger than I was expecting. Had it been a '96, I'd not have been that surprised. Still good freshness with some well-integrated tannic grip. The color shows some age, but, as with the nose and palate, less than was expected. I've one still in the cellar, and based on this showing, I'm inclined to hold, and enjoy over the coming 5-7 years; it'll change, not necessarily for it to get better, just different. 14,0% abv. highly recommended #15,339/15,920
Pale bricking garnet. Stewed prune and soy, unattractive. Lovely texture, silky entry before medium bodied raspy tannins emerge on the midpalate, stewed prune and earth flavours. The texture the main attraction of this wine.

2016 Produttori del Barbaresco Crus Plus a Few Older Produttori Wines (San Francisco): Red with browning. A bit of funk and VA to greet you. This was the first wine that showed any age. In fact, tertiary with truffles and earth but still some remaining sweetness of fruit. Perfect medium weight and long, earthy finish that is quite tannic. It improved in the glass, but I think the risk of holding this longer would outweigh any benefit.
