  • A friend of mine brought this bottle from Italy three years ago.
A blend of cannonau and cabernet sauvignon.
It was my first contact with the cannonau grape variety. Some people belives that cannonau is an indigenus grape variety of Sardinia, some others it is a clone of grenache.
Decanted for about 1/2 hour. Absolutely needs more to improve.
Dark carmine with a brownish rim.
Very impressive nose dominated by the scent of barnyard, with some notes of cherry, wood and iodine.
Totaly full - bodied, with still harsh tannins and flavors of tar, coffee, leather and licorice.
The aftertaste lasts about 20 sec and it was a bit astringent.
A surprise from Sardinia to pair with game and mature cheeses.
We realy enjoyed this wine with roast duck.
I think it will improve with further cellaring.

  • Beautiful red colour. Hint of herbs and mild coffee with some anise and alcohol on the nose.
It sure is well balanced and elegant.
