  She's ALIVE! A little basement funk at first but then it settles into a procession of Cassis, dark chocolate and then sauteed Portobello mushrooms. Not to earthy and so quelled my fears that the rest of the case was corked/cooked.

  The beauty of wine with a little age is the veritable kaleidoscope of primary and secondary aromas and flavors.
  Scored this 2002 Volker Eisele Estate Cabernet in a local wine shop of all places! Nose is unmistakable with its big earthy forest floor face jab. Then on the palate it's a strong dark fruit, black cherry opener then transitioning into dusty mocha, coffee and tobacco on the mid. This is where those secondary aged flavors start to take over and go deep into the finish.
  Some wines are fun and some are introspective and this is definitely the latter. Bravo Volker! And hi Catherine!

  The nose is full of berries with good legs and it has a hint of tobacco
  flavor. Very smooth. A nice Cab.

  Dk purple color with strong berries on the palette. The legs are long and the nose is very nice with blackberries and tobacco.
