Majestic reddish-purple. Notes of black cherry compote, grilled meats, truffles, sauvage underbrush. Satisfying earthy plum preserve flavors punctuated with a sense of gaminess, well-balanced sweetness, flavors and acidity. Could do with a few more years maturation for optimum drinking but very delicious presently. With 90 minutes air time, astringency makes its presence felt.

Burgundy color but with only a little bouquet and no flavor, with the wine left to its tannins. This has been my experience with Red Burgundy, truly a wine for the faithful and the believer. But I will quote the gospel of Mark: "Faith without works is dead."
This Potel 2005 Chambertin is less extracted than I had anticipated (personally not a huge fan of some of the 2005 reds, however this was nicely done). Rich array of mixed cherries, black tea, underlying Gevrey note of gamey underbrush. Well-balanced tannin structure and acidity. A sturdy 05 that could benefit with a quick decanting. Well-layered. Drink now – 2040. (89/100)

(Potel Nicolas Chambertin) Medium-plus colour. The first sniff is disappointing - high-toned and alcoholic - but it soon slips into an interesting and deep impression of dark cherry fruit. Good acidity and plenty of well covered tannin, good dimension too. The finish is a very long diminuendo

It served along with other 2005 GC in my BD dinner. I openned it 2 hours ahead but it still was very tight at moment, still young.
