Blind Tasting @ Weygandt (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): I brought this to the blind tasting because I knew I'd get a kick out of people trying to guess it. The guesses were all over the place, Jura, Russian River, Loire. I get apricot, pine needles and cedar on the nose, along with nuts and cheese rind. Crisp acid on the palate balances out the heavy tropical fruit (guava, mango). I really like the nutty, nougat and Sherry notes, and the salted caramel aspect on the finish. This has to be the most interesting and unique New York Chard, because it shows so many different elements. Love it.

Golden yellow. Well developed nose with honey and spice. Has eased into maturity with developed fruit and mellowed tannins. Love the nuttiness on the finish. A pleasant surprise.

This smelled exactly like a margarita to me, very different for a Chard. Didn't love it though.

Had with family members. Excellently crafted Chardonnay with creamy oak over and under tones! Would consider getting again, but the price is too high.
