Has the deep colour of the vintage and great depth and intensity for its level. There’s a stony, mineral quality just below the flesh and it has luscious, black cherry fruit. It is full and creamy, with terrific presence and a super-long finish carried by ripe tannins.

This is much better than Arnoux's '05 Chambolle-Musigny, which I have tasted several times and consistently found underachieving. Nicely ripe black fruit, with a spicy, blood orange-driven palate. A touch tart and herbal in the middle; moderately long, structured finish. This is quite tasty but not outstanding -- maybe it's just shut down, but it seems to lack some of the energy and sap of the '05 vintage.

I have a few of these, so couldn't resist a progress check. This could use another year or two on it's back (at least), but it was beautiful burgundy. Bright fleshy fruit. Tannins with grip. Balance, depth and vitality. I like the Arnoux story, but have always been a little disappointed with the wines. Until this one. Glad I have more to drink after 2015.
