It’s so rare to see an 05 look like it’s over the hill but I think that’s happening here. Was so good a few years ago but now seems to be falling apart. Let’s see what happens with the next bottle
Beautiful floral nose. Needed at least 3-4 hours of air before it finally started to open up and drink well. Just a beautiful concentrated mouthfeel with structure and plenty of tannins for many more years. Turned me into a fan of les Saint Georges and Gouges

(Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges) Dark garnet red color; tart cherry, tart red fruit, mineral, smoke nose with a sense of salt; very tight (clinched, really), tart cherry, mineral, salty raspberry palate with structure, oodles of extract and grip; medium-plus finish (needs 8-10 years)

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay not from Burgundy; 2/17/2023-2/18/2023: Blind. Dusty and earth on the nose, palate is very balance and dense. Looks aged but still very rustic. Totally the opposite of the current style.

Very disappointed verses Burghound 94, started off very promising and fruity but didn’t finish to my expectations
