Hope this was cork failure, as it was some what brown at the edge, and showed stewed, over-mature aromas of leaf decay and pruned fruit. My other bottles of the same wine (from the same source, consumed from 2008-2016) have always been very good, so maybe a one off. My last one, so no issues for me, but...

Sunday Afternoon Get Together (SoNo East): A nice, rustic Moulin-a-Vent with great dusty dark fruit, underbrush and herbs. The palate was, for me, lacking a bit on the minerality front - but that didn't take away from beautifully silky dark fruit and floral notes. Still has a lot of life left, too.

This has opened up quite a lot since it was first released. the floral, fruit and mineral elements of the wine are in harmony, and even my wife (who does not like any red wine) commented on how nice it smells. There's still a fair bit of a nearly tannic chalkiness on the back end suggesting that further cellaring is possible, but it's hard not to drink this all straight away. Delicious!

Still young and tight,or maybe closed, but I think there's a lot of potential in this wine. Decanted. Loads of acid, obviously built to age. Nice earthiness on the palate, plus bright cherry and strawberry flavors and some spiciness. It wasn't a 91-point wine as I tasted it but I get the feeling it's got the stuffing to improve greatly in the next five years.

clear and pure fruit, very floral. Needs a bit of time to open.
