The first bottle a year and an half ago was very disappointing. This bottle was very enjoyable. I agree with other reviewers.....light ruby red in color. Well balanced and elegant in style. Opened for 1 hour, but did not decant. ......and it did not seem to further improve as the evening unfolded. I am going to assume for now that the first bottle was a single bottle problem.
Light ruby red. Classic aromas of underbrush, iron, morello cherries, wood spice and hint of coffee. Intensely mineral on the palate with sweet-sour crushed cherries-cranberries, leather, medium acidity and inner-mouth perfume of violets on the finish.

(Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Rouge) Spicy, intriguing tart red fruit and cherry nose; rich, medium body with good concentration, sap and green notes; medium-plus finish (made from Pinot Noir and a small amount of Pinot Gris)
