A nose of some cherry and spice, garnet in color. A medium to full bodied CDP, with black cherry, raspberry, licorice and spice on finish. www.winelx.com

Deep purple, almost inky color with a dark ruby rim. On the nose, rose petal, plum, cherry and some hints of oak. Pleasant, but rather straightforward.
In the mouth - medium to full bodied, well rounded, solid structure and firm tannins, with some decently luscious fruit, yet lacking in complexity.
Approachable and drinkable now, will probably develop more character in 5+ years from now, but 89 points on the night. Tasty, yet unremarkable.

Tour de France blind tasting (Concord, MA): The southern Rhone representative for our Tour de France tasting. I predicted beforehand that the group would prefer a big, open CdP over Bordeaux and Burgundy in a blind tasting, and indeed, they did (1st out of 6). But even taking the unfairness of the comparison into account, this vintage of Domaine de Marcoux was lovely. (My 2nd out of 6.) In spite of its weight and power, it remained fresh and avoided overripeness.

Tasty, but aromatically shy. Needs time.

Doft: mörka röda bär, vanilj, mineraler
Smak: Fruktig medelfylligt röda bär, vanil, tobak, lakrits, peppar i avslut. Bra balans, mkt god
