Drew's bottle. Hard to place initially, which is interesting in light of the fact that Rhone and Bordeaux had to be ruled out first. I forget, between times, that 100% Sangiovese can drink like this. Drinks well but it won't be immortal, time to drink up.
Ruby red in color. Airy and lifted aromas of licorice, violets, leather, soil and cherry liqueur. A superbly integrated palate shows sweet-sour crushed maraschino cherries, hint of earth, medium(+) acidity, refined tannins and long perfumed (spice+leather) finish. Classy and superb value for a 20 year old CCR.
