  • Warehouse...From Magnum....showing age dark, Asian spice box, blackberries, some light graphite and sandalwood essence.
    Nothing special though....

  • PnP from 1.5. Clear, deep dark purple. Nice proper med intensity Pinot nose. This drank very well. Super good balance, med body/weight, clean, decent finish. Good drinking window, nothing off.

  • Decanted for an hour, surprising amount of sediment. Lighter ruby-brown color, aging quickly despite being stored in a temperature and humidity controlled cellar. Full strawberry and cola nose with hints of alcohol. Strawberry notes again dominate the palate, with a light silky palate, and notes of vanilla and raspberry. Slight secondary notes of earth and mushrooms, light, balanced acidity and a touch of heat. Still, drinking beautifully, the bottle disappeared quickly, and I wish I had 6 more of these at $25. Lengthy finish, still tasting this after 2 minutes. I would have thought this was a 1er Cru Burgundy, say 99 or 01 Gevrey, rather than a California Pinot. Fantastic QPR.

  • Had this a few years ago, and happily left the rest of the case sitting in my cellar as it is showing much better now, although I don't know that I'll wait more than another year or two to drink the rest. Opened, decanted for about an hour, and it was drinking better than I expected. Fairly big nose of strawberry and cola, full mouth feel of silky tannins with strawberry predominating and developing secondary notes of raspberry and vanilla. Fairly long finish.

  • medium ruby color. dense nose of strawberry jam, cola and hints of roses. a very nice nose. silky palate with plush-feeling tannins and flavors of rich rasberry jam, strawberries, spice and toast. vanilla and toast on the long, dark finish. i really liked this pinot. aged 10 months in 100% french oak, 46% new. the 14.5% is not a problem.
