Alluring nose. All the notes are there from our last bottle drunk over five years ago. Fruit, smoke, herbs and anise but more mellow now. That is based on my last note as my memory is certainly not that good. Same with the palate. It has become more elegant and nuanced. It is a quieter and more thought provoking wine now. Still plenty of soft tannins on the finish so no need to rush. I am a big fan of Saint-Cosme wines and still trying to sort out the age at which I like them best. Ten years has not been wasted here.
Quite deep, even ruby. Strong cherry/red berry aromas. Full, mouth coating feel. Youthful and tannic, deep, dark red fruit without overripeness and a prominent ground coffee note from the wood base. Modern style with some olive, little in the way of garrigue and overall very good.
