Excellent food player together with grilled black-peppered lamb roll stuffed with thyme and other herbs, grilled potatoes and ratatouille with lots of black olives. What a great example of mirroring! In window, yet quite youthful still - more yielding on the palate than on the nose, will be more expressive with time. Should easily go for another decade, probably more.
A lot of aromas already from the opened bottle - pepper and blackberry as one would expect. On the palate this has the mouthfeel of classical Bordeaux or Chinon, medium-bodied, drinkable stuff. The flavor intensity isn't very high, and I feel this has lived through its best days already. Still, not bad, and the freshness woke up a lot when paired with food.
