  Length is a bit short. Finish is again quite smooth. There is little to remember aside from the lack of character. It may develop, but it will most likely just keep for many more years without much upside.
  
  Drink up.

  Stored properly but it's done. The nose was still quite nice but it ended there. It's just past it's prime and faded away. Cooking wine at best.

  Quick pour to glass from a bottle that I was expecting to be more meaty and austere, less oaky and rich, based on the Northern Rhone grape sourcing. Compared to the reserved and streamlined Beaujolais I've been drinking lately, this comes across on the nose as opulent and hedonistic with plummy red currant with a hint of spice and herb. This seems like it would open up to reveal additional aromas given more time to breath. Lavender floral and Indian spices are evident on the medium bodied, persistent palate. A sugar cookie and vanilla laced rich mid-palate with baking spices brings to mind the oak influence, but it’s well crafted here. Earthiness and crushed stone imbued in the medium-plus length finish. This was far more typical for the sub-region on the palate than the rich bouquet would suggest, therefore I quite enjoyed it. This paired well with dinner (lentil salad).
