  • Lovely! The colour has toned down to a medium to medium deep crimson with an aged character - nose is mostly cigar box, with cassis notes and the same black olive/savoury note, but definitely secondary aromas taking the fore - very Bordeaux - palate is pure, rather highish acidity, and def still some tannic support - no rush on these - full, broad palate, with winey, Bordeaux flavours, and a very good finish that lingers - quite savoury, a coffee note too, this was great with grilled rib eyes

  • Deep rich red with a dark core.
Nutty, red currants, raspberry, red cherry.
Plentiful fine tannins, red berries, cherry, raspberry, a hint of mulberry. Lovely refined flavours, drinks beautifully.

  • Terrific Aussie Cab! Lovely concentration and typicité, oozing crunchy bluebrries and creme de cassis. Enough acidity, minerality, umami, focus and restraint to satisfy my classical/traditional preferences.

  • Decanted 2 hours. Screw cap. Aromas of dark berry fruit, spice, hints of tobacco, vanilla, herbs. The palate is terrific - balance, softening tannins, length. It makes you want to take just another sip every time. After more than 5 hours in the decanter, it was still going strong. Wonderful wine now, but there's no rush here.

  • Really great cabernet - decadent whilst still maintaining balance, and full of character and complexity. Blackcurrant dominates, supported by plums and dark cherry, dark chocolate, a touch of eucalypt, background cedar and vanilla from oak, and closing a hint of dark olive.

Tannins are softening but still present and supportive. Will keep for another decade but it's hard to see it being any better than now.
