From 375ml. Golden hued. Oily pitted fruits on nose with some floral notes. Not as flamboyant as 3 years ago, edging towards flabby. Flavors more complex/deep, but not what I was looking for with the pairing of lentil/arugala/asparagus.
Açık altın sarısı renkte.Çok da aromatik olmayan ön burnunda fıçı tonları (vanilya)altında çok yoğun olmayan tatlı narenciye, olgun kayısı,narenciye kabuğu,is alınıyor.Bal ,krema ya da tereyağı da var.Altta tüm bunlara eşlik eden kireç gibi minerali mevcut.Orta gövdeli ,yumuşak,yağlımsı.Asidi belirgin.Konsantrasyonu yeterli.Kısa orta-orta bitişinde çok hafif acılık mevcut
Very deep color, golden rim. Aromatically not showing a ton of viognier (floral peach skins) to me... felt it was showing more new oak and minerals... fruit was stone fruit but more in a ripe chard kind of way. On the palate dry with low acidity, a very full and rich midpalate, high alcohol. Wine has good balance but tends towards the fat side stylistically, very good length and intensity... good complexity. Wine has finesse, a very fine texture, poor expression of place. Blind this wine aromatically feels more Burgundy than Condrieu, its only on the palate where that would be contradicted for me (low acids and high alcohol would be less consistent with Burgundy, those some of those chards are getting bigger in ETOH). I went back and forth on whether this wine was past its prime... I think it is a very personal call I suppose (I personally liked it better when it was younger). Overall this is clearly a very high quality wine in a very particular style (lot of new oak for condrieu) at a very particular place in its evolution (already mentioned this) so I think there are some caveats when chosing who to pour it for. Any wine that makes me think this much must be "outstanding" though I'm not sure it was in the glass tonight.

(Domaine Georges Vernay Condrieu Coteau de Vernon) Bright medium golden yellow color; amazing floral, lily and vanilla nose, that changes to a honey nose; elegant, silky, sweet citrus palate with minerality and good acidity; medium-plus finish 93+ pts.
