In peak condition. Great nose of funk and red fruit. A big mouthful of sweet and black cherries. Just a hint of the alcohol level on the mid palate, but really drinking well.

A dark blue-red wine, like crushed blueberries. Normally, I wouldn’t reach for a Paso Pinot for something as special as Thanksgiving, but when I began looking through prior notes to see what might have the profile I wanted for the meal, this spoke to me. A couple of months ago, I noted this carried “cola-teaberry, but also a distinct, fleshy cherry [flavors]. The finish is both smokey and herbal at the same time.” The flavors were spot on for the meal. The wine shows complexity and a velvet glove finish. It, however, lacks the length you might want. Less sediment in this bottle than in the one opened two months back. 14.9% alc. On Thanksgiving with roasted turkey, smoked duck. Recommended.

Drinking well, if linear. Notes of mixed forest berries and dark chocolate. Generous and chewy on the palate.

This wine was completely dominted by cola flavors. The fruit was black cherry. The only thing missing was the fizz. The acidity was good. Screwcap.
