  Leather, chypre, wet stones, plum preserves, berry jam, marmalade, road tar, gummy bears. The sensation of sweetness comes through after a few hours of air. An aromatic, unctuous expression of Syrah that likely has a few years to go before peaking.

  Last tasted a little over 8 months ago. Pretty much the same, except there's the addition of blueberry on the nose. So, the aromas and flavors both have blackberry, cassis, black cherry, blueberry, roasted game meat, smoke and cigar box. Still a little jammy, along with being big, rich and powerful in the mouth. Tannins about the same as last time, still not resolved. Great structure. The longer the wine is open, there seems to be more prevalence of cigar box from the oak.

  Still quite similar to my tasting of 8/14/2013. Blackberry, cassis, black cherry, earth, roasted game meat, smoke and cigar box. This time I also got some blueberry on the palate. Big rich and powerful in the mouth. A little jammy. Tannins are somewhat, but not totally resolved; not quit as intense as the tasting just over a year ago. Very nice structure and acid. And again, a nice fruit laden finish. I believe the drinking window should be somewhat longer than the CT posted 2015.
