Q2 Tasting - The Rhone! - Another taster's perspective ((The Apt)): #16 of 16 wines tasted (double-blind) at Rhone tasting. Yeah lets be honest at this point my powers of observation were significantly degraded. My notes say 2 things - young & tannic. Given that the wine is not at all young - I clearly was not on point. This one probably suffered for its place in the lineup - for me it was in the back half of the pack.
Q2 Tasting - The Rhone! (The Apt): Wine #16: Part of a double-blind Rhone tasting. Last wine of the day so the notes on this weren't very detailed. As with many of the others got the red currant. Lighter bodied. Wish could go back and try today although was finished yesterday. (4 pennies)
Dark purple. Black fruit and roast meat dominate the nose, with a hint of black olive. Sumptuous and intense, this nonetheless is a wine of considerable purity. Dark berries and game on the palate lead to a lengthy finish. Great wine; drinking well now.
