Consistent with previous bottle last week. A touch of caramel, sous bois, smoke slightly sappy red fruit. Smooth. Some earthy meatiness though the mid-palate and then the bright red fruit and vibrancy comes back on the finish. Beautiful. ****
Full garnet to mid ruby at the core. Lovely nose that combines a touch of caramel, damp early autumnal sous bois, a whiff of smoke and a lovely core of slightly sappy red fruit. Silky smooth with a floaty, almost ethereal brightness. Some earthy meatiness though the mid-palate and then the bright red fruit and vibrancy comes back on the finish. Beautiful. Really singing. Sixth bottle in the past three years and the best yet. ****

(Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin Les Combe aux Moines) Medium-plus cherry red. Red fruit nose with well integrated background oak. Stronger tannin than the 'Les Goulots' with good acidity and fruit. Very good.
