Time has been kind to this wine and it's moved away from an awkward, overly herbal and leathery wine to regain some balance. Tannins are melting away and the fruit is coming back into prominence with the garrigue notes working as a complimentary seasoning rather than dominating. Past it's peak? Not at all, just about getting there I'd say.

Alas my last bottle of this wine. As I recall, it was suggested to purchase this wine by James Horowitz of XO Wine Travel Consultants. Thank you James. Deep red hue with hints of brick on the edge. This wine may well be in its prime or just slightly past, but drinking fantastic. The red raspberry aromas are obvious, but I even catch hints of Rhone terroir in the nose. My first bottles were unlike this one. EG WineArchitect, #wine

Minimal leathery aroma. Blackberry, tea, and earth flavors. Well balanced with medium body and finish. Fine tannins.

Copious leather and shoe polish (VA), slightly sweaty. Not much fruit (blackberry) left in this, finishes short. A little over the hill.
