Maintains it's dark ruby color. Dark fruit, cassis and licorice on the nose and palate. The tannins are soft. Close to the end of it's drinking interval but has aged well.

What a gem of a wine! Dark, brooding and massive without being dull, cloying nor hefty. Utterly balanced and great!
I would wish for some more tannic backbone. As it is, I had emptied this btl almost before the start of the 2nd starter plate. Superbly delicious and easy drinking, a mere, unnoticeable 14,5%... Wow!
Low acids, close to no tannins, yet balanced and fantastic!

Crazy wine. Massive and dense. Dark fruit, leather, but masses of soy sauce and umami. What is most impressive is the acidity: totally unexpected and keeps everything so fresh. Had the ‘02 Savitar last night: good, but this is another level.

A few years ago this was a huge wine with a truly extraordinary finish. Tannins are now very resolved, and it’s now a bottle to be enjoyed for subtlety rather than power.

A nice Aussie Shiraz very much at its peak. More subtlety than power.
