Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • The discovery of this wine came only by chance while visiting the producer in Argentina. Only 3000 bottles were produced of this varietal in 1996 and then forgotten (usually he blends Cabernet and Malbec for his "Pura Sangre" flagship wine). The wine presented a fresh color, as if it was bottled yesterday, deep violet blue and the nose was a fantastic mixture of cassis, cherries and certain mineral notes of terroir. On the mouth it was full bodied and velvety. But the most amazing part of this wine for me was the aftertaste. Lingering and evolving, showing some cinnamon, mineral and earth. 1 hour later I could still sense it. So far this is my favorite wine of all time, you can bet I will be getting a few extra bottles in my next trip to Argentina.
