Pop and pour. Intense fruit right from the start. Compared to the 2007 and 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin from the same producer this one gives the most immediate joy. Fruit and immense power both on the start of the palate and throughout the end. It has a bit of a one track mind right now, with mostly tons of fruit. More power than the other wines, but perhaps not as much finesse as the 2012 GC. All in all a fabulous wine... Will go on for years.
Dark and complex color. Nose is very berry-driven. Pinotfruit fresh as the day is long. A hint of spices and fresh herbs. The palate is rich, full, heavy and serious. The vintage shows well with extreme fruit on both palate and nose. Very pure pinotfruit. The wine looses power after an hour in the glass, so I think this one is at the top of the curve right now, but might stay there for years to come.
